The mission focus group has 2 functions:

1.  To stimulate prayer and support for Christian Missions both nationally and internationally.  To this end we try and keep the congregation as informed as possible regarding the wide range of groups, individuals and agencies that we as a church support. This is mainly done through power point presentations, often at the beginning of services, through our prayers of intercession and through visiting speakers.

2.  To bring before the Church Committee recommendations and suggestions as to which group should be supported financially from the Church Missions Account.

From the Morales Family in Peru

June 2008

"Neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 9:39

Dear friends:
This letter comes to you after long time. We apologise for that. Busy time, work, church and different issues kept us from completing it but thank you because some of you were in touch. Finally we arrive to half of the year. Term is getting over and we can write our prayer letter at last. Time flies, we feel very tired, looking forward to get a break, but despite all difficulties, we are very grateful to God.

From Cesar (Dad) -

As I said before term is almost gone. May was a busy month as well because started with a trip to Guatemala. A conference about Theological Education was given by Overseas Council and the Principal and I attended. The main subject was "Leadership and Transition of Power". It was very encouraging to know how God is doing His work in other parts of Latin America.
A building project for new students home was approved by La Molina Council- So we hope to start this few weeks ahead. We develop this project also for getting some incomes because of many people are coming for spending time in Peru doing their mission. However we haven't get enough funds for this. We are trying to make some contact in order to get it.
A very big token of love was given by Steve Corbin's family (he was the student who died in 2006). They donate all money from Steve's insurance to Seminary in order to make the project works. The building will have his name.
Some of you may know our intentions me to go to NI. At the moment all seems to be good. I got an e-mail from British Embassy telling me my "your visa has been issued". I hope that means I will be there at end of September. I hope you again and also to meet many other people.

From Jessica -

My dear friends! This is a long time we haven't written a letter, sorry for that. We wanted Cesar had his visa already but it's not possible yet.
We are doing well, we keep very busy but very happy as well despite all the difficulties we have.
At the college I am still teaching Hebrew, I like it, and every year is a challenge in order to find the easiest way to teach so the students can understand, I am also still teaching Spanish Grammar, it's interesting to see how the students realise that even being Spanish speakers they don't know Spanish grammar, everything is new for them.
This year I'm teaching also a new subject for me, it's Biblical Exegesis in Spanish, it means to do exegesis but not using Hebrew o Greek but just Spanish. It is very interesting, and I think I have learnt more than the students:.
At the church I am still working very hard in the Women Fellowship. We have organised different events, like a dinner, conferences, social events, etc. Women are very encouraged, the average is 40 women per meeting and now the challenge is to involve them to participate more at church, to do more charities events and to start working in cells groups. That means lot of work, I think I won't accept to be the president of the Women Fellowship next year, I will help them, and support them, but it needs more time which I don't have.
Because of that responsibility I accepted at the end of last year I couldn't start a master course, it is necessary for me to get a Master. My situation is a bit difficult, because I cannot go out to study I looked for studies on line and it seems they are two good places I can study. The problem is that it will take me a lot of time to finish, almost 5 or 6 years, because I have to teach, to study and to care my family. But I don't have other options. What is good is that God confirmed us that our ministry is the education and for these years it seems that it will continue being here at the Evangelical Seminary of Lima.

Cesar's Corner -
Hi there! Yesterday I had a TKD exhibition with other black belt guys. I did well. My time at school is good as well. I'm playing the recorder. I like music.
I cannot wait for holidays. I want to go to Trujillo. In Trujillo I only watch TV, play with Carlos and eat a lot of chocolates. That is a perfect place for me!!!

Carlos Plot -
Hiya again!!! I spent half of this year at school and still love it. On
Saturday I did my TKD exam and I got my Yellow belt. This is my last time at Kinder. Next year I'll be at Primary. I keep learning English words. I know colours, fruits and things as well. I'm getting happy faces (sticker) every day. Mum is proud of me. We had a big breakfast with Dads in school. That was funny even though Daddy ate a lot more than me. I want to travel to Trujillo but Daddy says not yet.

Prayer Points :

1. For strength and faithfulness to God. We want to keep close to Him every moment.
2. For our work at the Seminary and also our time at church. We want to do our best and also to get time for rest.
3. For our time as a family. We want to expend a quality time with kids and also as couple.
4. For Cesar's visa. He wants to visit NI and sharing our news with you personally.
5. For Jessica. Please pray for strength in her teaching time. Also pray for her health.
6. For our economical situation. There are expenses that we need to pay (insurances, kids school fees, petrol, etc.). We are praying and trying to get the funds.
Many thanks for all your love

Cesar, Jessica, Cesar Jnr & Carlos Morales
